Product Owner - Digital Customer Portal

Function

Elia Group (Elia and 50HzT) is facing one of its major challenges: powering the decade of electrification. The energy transition and the massive electrification will accelerate in the coming months and years.

Increasing shares of sustainable energy resources and massive electrification generate a paradigm shift in the consumption behavior: demand will have to adapt to the available production. One of the key solutions is to foster the development of flexibility and, in particular, to unlock the flexibility located behind the head-meter of the consumer, while keeping this process seamless and beneficial for the consumer. In other words, the consumers and prosumers should be incentivized to consume when energy is largely available, which in the energy transition could be synonym of renewable greener energy.

 

The Portals and Platform product line builds the digital window of the Elia Group. Our portals focus on human-to-human interactions, as well as machine-to-machine developer portal interactions. Our platform is built to provide common building blocks, and to connect to the building blocks located on other platforms.

 

For the above-mentioned product line we are looking for a Product Owner.

 

Your key activities:

 

  • Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy, aligned with Elia Group's goals and digital transformation.
  • Manage and optimize the product backlog, prioritize user stories, and ensure efficient and effective delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Scrum Master on sprint and release plans, and align releases with other Product Owners.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective communication.
  • Follow agile processes, ensuring product quality, thorough testing, and documentation.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for product and process enhancements.

Your Profile

  • Over 6 years of experience in Agile Development and specific Product Owner experience, with a focus on customer-oriented digital products and portals.
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, industry trends, and user demands are a strong plus; you feel comfortable discussing modern technology with the tech team.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead an Agile team, ensuring adherence to Agile methodology to maximize business value.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex messages to diverse stakeholders and making compelling arguments.
  • Strong leadership qualities, able to make fast, difficult decisions, and persuade a diverse team.
  • Critical thinker and innovator, passionate about challenging the status quo, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning.

This office is easily accessible by public transport, a 5-minute walk from Brussels-Central station.
