Are you ready to steer the energy transition by managing risks and opportunities and making a tangible impact? Elia Group's Risk Department is on the lookout for a Risk Analyst to coordinate activities associated with business risks and opportunities. In this dynamic role, you'll work within our Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance team, coaching and supporting colleagues at Elia in enhancing their risk management practices. You will be coached by and reporting to the Risk Manager.
As Risk Analyst, your role is multifaceted and influential, encompassing the following two key responsibilities:
- Build a true and fair view of the exposure of Elia Group to strategic and operational risks to the governing bodies. You engage with business leaders and subject matters experts to identify, assess and consolidate risks that may jeopardize the ability of the Elia Group to reach its ambitious objectives of realizing the energy transition in Belgium (with Elia Transmission Belgium) and Germany (with 50 Hertz).
- While risk management in Elia Group has initially been organized in a decentralized manner, you will contribute to the progress and increase the maturity of risk management across the various business entities. In an increasingly challenging context surrounding the energy transition in Europe, Elia Group has the ambition to transform to deliver the energy transition at scale and pace. To that end, risk management has a pivotal role to play in fostering a more integrated thinking across the company. You will therefore collaborate with the business to implement and enhance the enterprise risk management framework and be in charge of transforming the risk function to ensure the Elia Group remains fit for purpose.
Additional activities supporting those two key responsibilities:
- Efficient Information Exchange: Leverage risk management software to gather and exchange information efficiently with risk owners and other control functions, including Internal Audit and Compliance teams in both Belgium and Germany.
- Risk anticipation: Actively monitor sources of future risks that may jeopardize Elia Group over the short to long term.
- Support implementation of new features that have a significant influence on the Enterprise Risk Framework, such as changes in regulation related to resilience, sustainability, cybersecurity,…
- Insights for Reports: Contribute insights on risk management systems, major risks, and opportunities for the preparation of the Elia Group integrated report and other annual reports and communications.
- Training and Coaching: Contribute to the development and delivery of risk management training programs

Your Profile
- You have a university degree, preferably in a field such as economics or applied science, or equivalent through experience.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in risk management.
- You can drive and conduct risk assessments and remediation across various areas of the organization. You can make decisions with limited information.
- You have a strong capacity to manage evolving or competing priorities constructively.
- You communicate effectively and have strong interpersonal skills that enable you to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- You can work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
- You have a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
- You have a good working knowledge of French, Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of Elia or the energy sector is a plus
