As a Senior Expert Secondary Systems, you will develop and expand your expertise in asset management for the critical infrastructure of our electricity transmission network.
You will play a central role in defining, optimizing, and innovating protection and automation systems while contributing to large-scale projects.
Your Mission:
In this role, you will take responsibility for several strategic activities:
- You monitor and coordinate discussions related to the integration of bay protections based on an IEC61850 architecture (substation bus and process bus).
- You collaborate with other departments, coordinate involved experts, and actively contribute with your analyses and recommendations.
- You represent Elia in committees such as Synergrid, sharing your expertise and defending Elia's interests in international projects.
- You collect, analyze, and consolidate knowledge about low-voltage equipment (controls, protections, batteries, telecom, etc.) to ensure their performance and reliability.
- You develop technical requirements, analyze field feedback, and propose improvement solutions.
- You participate in project definition, identify technical needs, and seek techno-economic optimizations.
- You validate equipment in the lab and in the field, ensuring compliance with defined standards.
- You create technical standards, train operational teams, and contribute to knowledge sharing within internal and international working groups.
Your Profile
- You hold a degree in civil or industrial engineering with a specialization in electricity or electromechanics.
- You have concrete experience in fields related to protections and electrical automation, particularly in a high-voltage environment. Concrete experience in implementing solutions based on the IEC61850 protocol (substation bus or process bus) is a plus.
- You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a good command of English. Knowledge of all three languages is a plus.
- You are autonomous, proactive, and capable of coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- You combine excellent analytical and synthesis skills with a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset.
- You are comfortable with IT tools and are eager to learn asset management software specific to Elia.
