Team Lead Q&TI Technical Quality
Function
To optimise team management and teamwork in the Quality & Technical Integration (Q&TI) team, a Technical Quality Sub-Team is being created. This job description is for a new position: the Q&TI Technical Quality Team Leader. They will lead and be responsible for managing the new sub-team.
The Q&TI Technical Quality Team Leader will be part of the Quality & Technical Integration (Q&TI) Team and manage the Q&TI Technical Quality Sub-Team independently. The team’s main objective will be to take measures to guarantee technical quality in Elia’s investment projects.
The Q&TI Technical Quality Team Leader’s duties will be as follows:
- Have hierarchical responsibility for their team via various activities (organising team meetings, identifying development needs, managing performance and preparing annual programmes, etc.);
- Develop a vision for the future and a technical-quality strategy for investment projects and the roadmap for their team, bearing in mind the overall strategy of Elia, the Infrastructure Division, the Engineering Standards & Expertise (ESE) Department and the Q&TI Team;
- Day-to-day management of the team, e.g. monitoring the activities of the team and the team members, providing any support and guidance necessary and checking deliverables, etc.;
- Propose, develop, supervise and coordinate initiatives that have a positive impact on the evolution of technical quality in investment projects;
- Organise ongoing improvements in the field of technical quality, e.g. by capturing, evaluating, sharing and anchoring feedback (REX) with the relevant project officers and experts;
- Organise corrective actions in response to non-conformities, via root cause analyses, the definition and monitoring of actions and the communication required, etc.;
- Organise, centralise and improve document management for standard technical documents for investment projects;
- Play a leading role in the development of IT tools that support technical quality (a ticketing tool, a publication tool for technical standards, the Quality Management Tool and any tools still to be defined as needs evolve);
- Play an organisational and coordinating role for the various communications, e.g. communication moments about technical standards, REX communications and Quality Alerts (newsletter);
- Collaborate with experts from the various specialisations in the Q&TI Team who have the technical knowledge necessary to do the activities mentioned above. So, the Technical Quality Team will primarily have a facilitating and leading role and experts will continue to be responsible for actual content;
- Collaborate with other teams, e.g. the Projects teams, teams on site, the Asset Management Team and the other teams in their own Engineering Standards & Expertise Department, etc. to be able to realise and implement technical, quality-related aspects (create buy-in);
- Use indicators to visualise the progress being made with the team’s activities, measure project quality and report to the Quality & Technical Integration Manager.
Your Profile
- You have a Master's degree (in Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering) with a technical specialisation and an affinity with technical quality;
- You are bilingual in Dutch and French and have a good basic knowledge of English;
- You have good planning and organisation skills;
- You are team-focused, customer-oriented and able to work well with other services and departments;
- You are motivated to work on ongoing improvements;
- You have good communication and coaching skills;
- You have the ability to lead a team.
