Are you passionate about data, motivated by complex challenges, and eager to contribute to a sustainable and innovative energy system? 

If so, this role is perfect for you! As Teamlead Elia Grid Master Data Management, you will play a crucial role in managing master data and geospatial information related to our high- and low-voltage equipment. 

You will lead a dynamic team that makes a significant impact within Elia, ensuring high-quality data about the Belgian grid, which serves as the backbone of our operations. 

You will be responsible not only for operational teams but also for those developing Master Data and GIS systems.

What does the role involve?

 

  • Monitoring operational processes: 
    • Ensure timely and high-quality monitoring of GIS and Master Data operational processes.
    • Proactively communicate with internal customers and, together with your team, define SLOs/SLAs to guarantee data quality. 
    • Optimize the deployment of Data Stewards within your team to ensure SLO/SLA compliance.
  • Development of Master Data and GIS systems:
    • Collaborate with your teams and IT department to continuously develop and improve Master Data and GIS systems.
    • Set up "DataProducts" (according to the Data Mesh principle) for seamless Master Data distribution across Elia.
  • Expertise: 
    • Act as the main point of contact for questions regarding the processes and data managed by your team.
  • Change management:
    • Support your team during major transitions, such as implementing new systems (e.g., GIS) or introducing new data flows (e.g., customer connectivity).
    • Guide your team toward adopting a product-based organizational model.
  • Team development: 
    • Coach and motivate your team members to develop their skills and grow into a self-sufficient and proactive team.
  • Recurring reporting: 
    • Ensure the timely delivery of critical reports, such as network length calculations, NGI maps, and other operational reports. 

Your Profile

 

  • You hold a master’s degree in a technical field (preferably IT or data-oriented). 
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in people management within an operational environment.
  • You can communicate effectively with both managers and experts. 
  • You have a keen interest in data governance, data analysis, and data science.
  • You have strong knowledge in data governance or interest in data technologies (e.g., GIS applications like ESRI, analytics tools like Databricks and Power BI, database systems like Neo4J)., data analysis, and data science.
  • You are eager to develop a foundational understanding of high-voltage electrical systems. 
  • You are pragmatic, hands-on and possess strong analytical skills. 
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English. 
  • Experience in the energy sector or knowledge of electrical systems is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Private PC plan: once every 3 years, a budget will be made available to you for a PC/tablet with software & peripherals for personal use. 
  • Discounts: you will enjoy a 30% discount on your gas and electricity bill. 
  • Mobility: we will offer you a company car and public transport or a mobility budget. 
  • Elia shares: Elia will give you the opportunity to subscribe to shares with a discount of 16.66% on the average share price.
