Underground Cable Expertise Manager

Function

 

You are hierarchically responsible for a team of cable experts. Together with your team, you build up expertise on new high-voltage assets as part of the projects carried out by Engineering on behalf of Elia. 

 

Your team's tasks mainly include:

 

  • Gathering the necessary knowledge regarding the equipment and systems under your responsibility. You are aware of the latest trend in the market and exchange experiences with both internal and external contacts in order to acquire and maintain the necessary strategic know-how.
  • Acting as technical lead for concluding equipment framework agreements and writing the necessary specifications. You are responsible for the technical evaluation of the equipment as well as the procedures to deliver this equipment. 
  • Optimizing the integration of the equipment and in this context also preparing the necessary guidelines and basic documents for their application in Elia’s investment projects. 
  • You will advise the project engineers and support them in the realization of innovative projects. 
  • Writing and giving training courses.
  • Participation in internal, national and international working groups.

Your Profile

 

  • Civil or industrial engineer in electricity or electromechanics.
  • You can work smoothly in a team, are communicative and have a good power of persuasion.
  • You have acquired the skills to work independently, have a strong sense of responsibility with a good sense of priority and have effective communication skills. 
  • Experience with high-voltage and/or medium-voltage cables. 
  • You are trilingual in Dutch, French and English.
  • You are willing to carry out short missions abroad.
  • You have strong analytical and synthesizing skills so that you can clearly communicate a complex subject matter (both orally and in writing).
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office is a plus.

  • Salary: a competitive salary package, allowance for representation expenses, year-end bonus, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (€8 per working day), eco-vouchers, Sinterklaas and year-end vouchers as well as bonuses based on individual and group results.

  • Private PC plan: once every 3 years, a budget will be made available to you for a PC/tablet with software & peripherals for personal use.  
  • Mobility: we will offer you a company car and public transport or a mobility budget.  
  • Interest subsidies: after you have been with Elia for 5 years, Elia Engineering will be able to offer you a subsidy to reduce the interest charges on your mortgage loan. This will only be possible if the mortgage loan was taken out when you were already an Elia employee.  
  • Elia shares: Elia will give you the opportunity to subscribe to shares with a discount of 16.66% on the average share price.
