Internship - Upgrade SCADA Auxiliary Systems Offshore Switchyard
Function
During this internship, you will have the opportunity to support the Assets Offshore team in developing an upgrade plan for the Zenon SCADA system of the Offshore switchyard. This SCADA system is essential for monitoring and operating our auxiliary systems (HVAC, fire protection, cameras, weather systems) both locally and remotely. Both the hardware running the Zenon application and the software itself need upgrading. The reasons for an upgrade are as follows:
• Improved security
• Better performance and efficiency
• Enhanced compatibility with other systems
• Reliable support and maintenance
Specifically, your tasks will include:
• As-is: Inventorying the current system (hardware, software, and network configuration).
• Mapping out the context: Elia IT security requirements, determining which SCADA version will be delivered with the Princess Elisabeth island, availability of new hardware/software (checking and evaluating compatibility of new versions), etc.
• Scope definition, preparing an upgrade plan (with backup and recovery plan to prevent data loss), estimating budget and duration.
If feasible within the internship period, detailed specifications could also be drafted and requests for quotations from potential partners could be made.
